We just got back yesterday from a little trip up to Smugglers' Notch, VT. Kyle took some leave from work for us to take a trip and so he could also travel home to KY for his ten year college reunion. We wanted to go somewhere within driving distance and settled on using our timeshare in Smugglers' Notch. It's super popular for skiing in the winter, but we were hoping it would be a fun family trip for early summer too and it definitely was.
There is SO much to do at the resort. It's very kid-friendly, but there would've been a lot more activities we could've done sans kids. Maybe one day. In like eighteen years. :)
Like the title says, prepare for a picture overload...
Sunset our first night there. Gorgeous!
Then it was a beautiful Friday morning when we woke up!
I loved it when Brennan got up and said, "It's morning time now! The sun is out again! I can see mountains!"
Kyle took a couple of shots from inside our cottage. It was very large (3 bedrooms) and nice.
We busted out the ducky tubby for Bryce. He's still a little small for it, but it worked.
There are eight outdoor HEATED pools at the resort; one right across the parking lot from us. Even though the temps were mainly in upper 60s or low 70s, the heated water felt great.
Bryce was such a trooper on the trip and slept great! And found his toes!
The resort has a place called The Fun Zone for kids. Brennan LOVED it! We went there every single day and I think we cured his fear of bounce houses!
When we left the resort to go check out the surrounding areas there were breathtaking views everywhere. Brennan liked this little waterfall.
And he liked the ice cream cones we bought for the room!
My three boys!
And a couple more shots of the gorgeous view from our balcony.
On Saturday, we drove to Burlington, VT to visit an aquarium/science center. I thought it was overpriced for what was there, but Brennan seemed to have fun. Afterwards, we walked around Burlington.
Even Bryce took a little dip in the pool for the very first time. He doesn't seem too impressed in this picture, but just kept smiling at anything Brennan did. Brennan was great in the water and is pretty much independent with his swimmies on his arms.
I just love some of the shots we got of this little guy while we were there!
Sunday morning we went to a local cider mill. After eating some donuts, Kyle walked Brennan around a little while I fed Bryce. I love the picture of him sitting on the blue truck!
This picture cracks me up. I wanted a picture of my three boys together for Father's Day, but neither Bryce or Brennan would cooperate. Bryce is screaming and Brennan is poking him with a stick. :)
Someone loves his Momma!
The last two nights we were there, we let B take a bath in our huge jacuzzi tub. This night he was watching the final round of the US Open on the tv in a bathroom. He seems to really like golf all of a sudden. Future golfer maybe??
Brennan said he was willing to take some pictures with us, so we jumped on the opportunity!
Monday was our last full day in VT and we toured the Ben and Jerry's factory. It was pretty cute and you get free ice cream at the end! Of course we had to buy some ice cream too! There was a playground right outside. Ice cream and a playground...a little boy's dream come true!
I really like this picture. It made up for the failed Father's Day photo op!
If you stuck around for all those pictures, thanks. We really did have a great trip. It was relaxing and just nice to get away for a few days. We'll definitely go back to Smugglers' Notch again!
