Future Cubbie

Brennan looks forward to AWANA every Sunday night. Most nights Bryce comes too and we hang out in the nursery. In the past Brennan has always wanted to be held during the AWANA opening that takes place in the gym. This past Sunday, however, he wanted down and stood right on the blue line with the Cubbies the whole time. He stood there for the pledges, the AWANA verse, the song, the prayer, and the weekly awards. I have never seen him stay so still. It was really cute!

AWANA Awards

Last night Brennan had the AWANA Awards. He got to get up on stage with his other Cubbies (and their Mommies and Daddies) and be recognized for finishing his book. He received a ribbon and sang two songs. We watched other kiddos get recognized for their hard work too. He really enjoyed watching the slideshow of pictures from the past year of AWANA. He'd shout out whenever he saw himself or someone he knew. It was pretty funny. Afterwards there was dessert!

Brennan is special helper at school today and took his ribbon for show and tell! I've said it before, but he really loved being a Cubbie this year!

 This isn't a very good video since I was half way back in the sanctuary. I love his "Yes sir" in the second song though!

"I'm a Book Finisher!"

I am so proud of Brennan. Tonight he completed his first year of AWANA! He has loved being a Cubbie and I love seeing him so excited about going to church. Since he started in September, he has memorized 30 Bible verses. 30! He's been talking for several weeks about how tonight he will be an official "book finisher" when he recites his final verse from his book.

Brennan has had such wonderful leaders this year and talks about them all the time. He loves telling me about what happened during the puppet theater at Cubbies and of course his all time favorite is when they hunt for Easter eggs.

Each week of AWANA starts in our church's gym. I love taking Brennan and watching him stand in his spot on the blue line and put his hand on his heart for the pledges. And nothing melts my heart like seeing him fold his hands and bow his head each week when it's time for prayer there.

AWANA Grand Prix

On Sunday night, Brennan competed in the AWANA Grand Prix. About two months ago, I purchased a $5 kit from church and Kyle immediately started planning the car he wanted to build. Here are some pictures of our night. Brennan had fun. It was pretty chaotic, but he liked cheering for his car and his friends' cars. His car won a few heats and ended up coming in second place overall in his division, so he got a trophy!
