Christmas Pictures

We had a pretty relaxing Christmas. Brennan woke up right at his normal time of 7, but Bryce slept in a bit. Both boys have colds, so we let Bryce sleep and allowed B to open his presents first. We stayed in our pjs all day which was wonderful!

When he was all done opening his presents under the tree, I told him there was one more surprise for him downstairs. Kyle and I went down first so we could see his reaction. He saw his cash register before he was all the way down the steps and ran right to it. Then he noticed the entire grocery store set up.

Then Bryce woke up and he did great opening his presents. This first picture is when he ran out of him room when I told him to go find Daddy.

Then it was time for more grocery store fun.

The kinetic sand was a big hit too.

But it was for sure the cash register and grocery store that stole the show.

Bryce slept in again this morning giving Brennan and me time to play Ants in the Pants and, you guessed it, grocery store.

And we are all excited to use our big family present; a piano. Brennan will be starting lessons next month!

Here are some pictures we took of the boys on Christmas Eve and Christmas morning.

We took these shots right before we headed out to our church's Christmas Eve service.

We had a pretty relaxing Christmas morning. Unfortunately Bryce has had a few rough nights of sleep again, so we let him sleep in after having a middle of the night bottle. We let Brennan go ahead and open his presents and then once Bryce was up he helped open those too. We kept it pretty low-key this year. Brennan just asked for Play-doh and the game of Life on his iPad. He was super happy to get three Play-doh sets and we were happy that Life was on sale Christmas Eve for only $.99. Both boys got lots of new shirts.

We Skyped with my parents and sister who were vacationing in the Smoky Mountains while the boys opened their gifts. Brennan was pretty funny. He wanted each piece of wrapping paper thrown in the garbage bag right away and when he opened his Monster's University DVD he immediately got up and put it away in the DVD drawer. OCD much?!?!

Cookies with Santa

This morning we went to Brennan's school for the annual Cookies with Santa event. It was a little extra special to me this year because I was the co-chair for the event. I think I lost some sleep stressing about it, but it turned out great and I had fun getting to plan and do something other than being a mom. I look forward to being able to volunteer at the boys' schools as they get bigger.

I was proud of Bryce for sitting there. Brennan was never afraid of Santa and maybe Bryce isn't going to be scared either.

Our Christmas - Finally

Yes, I am finally getting around to blogging about our Christmas. I'm not even sure why it took me so long, but better late than never. Brennan has had a runny nose and a cough for a little while, so in these pictures, his upper lip is all red.

We went to our church's Christmas Eve service on Monday night. We tried some pics at home and some at church, but most turned out way too dark.

Then here are few shots from Christmas morning.

We tried not to go overboard with toys this year, because Brennan doesn't need anything at all. The only thing he specifically asked for was "the apple tree game" (Hi Ho Cherry-O). Uncle Larry and Aunt Amanda sent him that game along with a few other gifts. It is definitely his favorite present! He has also really enjoyed playing Chutes and Ladders, playing with his new (to him) car ramp, and reading the Llama Llama books.

It was a very nice and relaxing Christmas. I love that Brennan is starting to at least be able to talk about the true meaning of Christmas. He knows baby Jesus was born on Christmas and knows about Mary and Joseph and the three wisemen. We didn't do too much with Santa, but he still said Santa brought him his gifts. I think he just heard others talking so much about it that he picked up on that too.

Now we are just trying to wait patiently for our next gift, Brennan's baby brother, to arrive!
