Meet the Teacher

Today we got to go meet Brennan's new PreK teacher. He will be at a new school this year and he is super excited about it. He's a peer role model in the integrated preschool and think it will be a perfect fit for him. I pray he is a good friend and learns to help others in need. He loved his classroom right away and got busy playing! Bryce had fun too. I think he's also ready for school!

And then came home and played in the water. We've had mild weather for the last few weeks and today it was in the 80s. We are soaking up these last few days of summer vacation! Brennan's first day of school is next Tuesday.

I am excited about the one-on-one time I'm going to get to spend with this little guy while big bro is at school. I've already signed him up for gymnastics and we will go to story time too. He's a wild one for sure, but check out this dinner time OCD-ness that is coming out. The other night I gave him a handful of grapes and when I looked back at him he had put them all flat side down. And then tonight he put his grilled cheese pieces all in a line. He's nuts!

Playground and PJs

Really hoping I can get back into a regular blogging schedule again!

The boys and I have been going to the small playground in our neighborhood every night after supper. We've been eating earlier than normal and going there is helping me keep my sanity before bedtime. Bryce has decided he only goes up stairs like a big boy while there; no more crawling up them. They both love the swings and slides and just having time to run around! It's quickly becoming my favorite part of the day!

One of my other favorite parts? Dressing the boys in matching PJs!

And one last picture of Brennan's favorite part of the day. Anytime Bryce is sleeping and B is awake, he asks to play Chutes and Ladders. We are playing no less than 10 times/day right now. I love that he loves board games, but this one can be a killer.

Let's Make a Mess!

Both of these events resulted in Bryce going straight to the tubby afterwards!

Niantic Children's Museum

I hadn't taken the boys to the Niantic Children's Museum in a while, so one morning I called our local library to see if the free museum pass was available. It was, so we went and picked it up and headed to Niantic. I just took a few pictures, but both boys had lots of fun. I've mentioned here before that it is just a house with little play areas for kids. It's nice because it's small and not overwhelming for me to take the boys alone. And there's always something new each time we go!

We had the most fun in the frozen shadow room. You stand against this wall and a bright light shines on you. Then when the light goes off, you move away and your shadow is still there. I was able to move away and take a picture of our frozen shadows. We did this over and over again!

Brennan finally decided he was ready to ride the zip-line (with a  little help from Momma)!

PEZ!!!

On July 21st I randomly decided to take the boys to the PEZ Factory Museum in Orange, CT. We went once before right after Bryce was born, but I figured it would be fun to visit again. Unfortunately, I didn't get a single picture of Bryce. The boys did have fun and we came home with a huge bucket full of PEZ and two new PEZ dispensers!

This isn't a great comparison picture, but I CANNOT believe how big Brennan looks compared to the first picture taken just a year and half ago. Crazy!

Captain Barnacles and Kwazii

Kyle and I took the boys to our local aquarium to meet Captain Barnacles and Kwazii from the TV show The Octonauts. Brennan went through a phase where he loved that show. He hasn't watched it in quite some time, but when I told him about this event he was super excited. Bryce was happy to meet them as long as I was holding him!

It Never Gets Old

On Friday, July 18th the boys and I were able to time it right and watch Kyle's submarine come back home! He had only been gone since Monday, but it's still so fun to watch a sub come down the water; especially when they are coming home! I didn't know it at the time, but Kyle was driving the sub in this day!

Kyle was able to get home earlier than usual that day, so I decided to take Brennan to see the new Planes movie. It worked out well because Bryce took an amazing 4.5 hour nap at home, which gave Kyle a chance to rest too! The movie was cute. I like the first one better and Brennan kept asking to leave before it was over, but we ended up making it through the whole thing.

After the movie we came home and woke up Bryce and Daddy. We went to eat supper at our favorite local outdoor seafood restaurant, which happens to have an ice cream shop right next door.
