Snow Day!
Usually I do my Raising Rock Stars Preschool post on Friday, but this week we didn't do a new board. We have been doing RRSP for six weeks now, so instead of working on a new letter, I decided to have a little review week. I didn't really take any pictures until today when I had Brennan sort all of his words by the initial letter. He did great and remembered almost every word/picture.
And we also finger painted this morning!
Ok, now for the snow day pictures! A snowstorm in March shows we are definitely in New England. It didn't start snowing until later last night, but kept snowing until midday today. I'm not sure how much snow we got; maybe 6 inches??? I'm a bad judge of that sort of thing. Bryce was napping while Brennan was eating lunch today, so I took that time to go out and shovel the driveway. I wasn't sure Kyle would be able to get his car back in the driveway with all the snow. After I was done shoveling and Brennan had finished his lunch, the two of us went out to play in the snow. Usually I'm not a big fan of the white stuff, but I had fun playing with him out there today. Even though it was fun dear Lord, please let this be the last snow for us to play in this season!
After the snow, we came inside and Brennan laid down for a nap. I got to spend some time playing with Bryce before he went back to sleep too. Such a cutie!
And now we are ready for Spring, please!

Dear Bryce,
My sweet little angel, you are 2 months old today. Time continues to fly by. Here's a little of what's been going on around here.
You have outgrown most of your newborn sleepers; they are just too short for you now. You mainly wear 0-3 month clothes. You don't see the doctor until next week, but I feel like you are long. I weighed you this morning and you were 11 pounds. You currently wear size one diapers.
You are such a happy baby. Last month I thought you might have some tummy issues, but I don't think that's the case anymore. If you start screaming (which is very rare) it usually means you just need to burp or that you're overtired.
You are more alert now during your wake time and just smile and "talk" up a storm. We definitely have a much more consistent routine going on now, which is nice. You are on a good eat, wake, sleep cycle during the day with your wake time still being only about one hour. Around the one hour mark, you'll either start yawning or get a little whiny and I'll take you back to your room, swaddle you, and lay you in your crib awake. You easily put yourself right to sleep. It's so nice! You typically nap for 1.5-2 hours each time I lay you down.
When you're awake you like your bouncy seat, but seem to prefer just lying flat on your back on a blanket. You like being on the couch so you can see outside, but your favorite is if someone is talking to you. You continue to like it when Mommy sings to you. We do tummy time sometimes and you can turn yourself around in a circle because you're so squirmy. If you're on your playmat, you like to grab at the toys hanging from it. Just today you grabbed hold of the monkey and wouldn't let go. You've ogt a nice strong grip! You still get the hiccups A TON! When you get them, I usually put you in the swing in the most upright position and that gets rid of them pretty fast.
Nighttime sleep is still definitely inconsistent. You aren't the rockstar nighttime sleeper that your brother was. You normally eat around 6pm and then you're awake for the next hour. You easily put yourself to sleep a little after 7 and then I come in and feed you around 9 or 9:30; usually before you wake up. You've given me a 6-hour stretch once and a few 5 hour stretches, but 4 hours is pretty common. At this point I'm not even hoping for sleeping through the night, but just having to get up once to feed you. The early morning hours are the hardest for you for some reason and sometimes you'll wake at 4, 5, and 6. A few times I've ended up just letting you sleep in my arms. I know I shouldn't complain because thankfully when you do wake up, you usually just eat and easily go right back to sleep.
You still love your car seat and fall asleep almost immediately anytime we are in the car. It makes it easy to run errands with you because you just sleep the whole time. We've used the double stroller a lot now and you're great in that too (again because you love your car seat). You love bath time and now I am consistently giving you a bath on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings.
You still don't take a binky, which is fine since you're a happy baby without. I just wonder if you took one at night if you'd sleep longer stretches. I have yet to offer you a bottle. I know I need to do that, but pumping is so inconvenient and you're still eating around the clock right now. It would be nice if you could take a bottle though so Mommy and Daddy could go a date that lasts longer than 2 hours!
You had some visitors this past weekend. Your Auntie Lala flew up from Kentucky! She brought you a ton of clothes and spoiled you rotten while she was here. On Saturday Mama Sherri, Papa Dukes, Beth, Luke, and Madeleine came to visit. You were such a good boy for them! We can't wait until you're able to meet more family!
I feel like time is moving so quickly and I get a little sad because I know there's a good chance you'll be my last baby. They certainly don't get much sweeter than you and I feel so very blessed to be your Momma!

Even a Child is Known By His Deeds
Here's a little peek at some of the things we did for Raising Rock Stars Preschool this week. Our letter was "E" and our word was "is". Brennan can say most of the words of his verse this week and it falls right in line with us always talking about obeying.
Speaking of obeying, I'll share a cute story that happened yesterday. After school, we drove to the airport to pick up my sister (Auntie Lala). We then went to the Warwick Mall for lunch a carousel rides! Lala was sharing her Diet Coke with Brennan and after his second sip, I told him he could have one more drink. After that, he and Lala walked down to Target while I stayed in the food court feeding Bryce. When Bryce and I made it down to Target to meet them, Lauren told me she had offered Brennan another drink of her coke before she threw it away, but he said, "No. Mommy said no more drinks." Such a sweet little guy! :)

Brennan wanted to paint the picture again this week.
This was a separate activity, but he loved it. I printed off a couple "Clip and Learn" wheels from Carisa's website and he had a great time clipping the clothespins to them. We did this several different times throughout the week. I printed off an Angry Birds 1-6 wheel, a rainforest 1-10 wheel, and a fruit beginning sounds wheel.
Since our letter this week was "E" and Easter is quickly approaching, I thought it would be fun to pull out our plastic Easter eggs. I had Brennan place an egg on the "E" word I said aloud.
We also had fun playing basketball and sorting the eggs.

Stinker Bug
Just wanted to share some recent pictures of this stinker. He's a stinker because he doesn't like to sleep long stretches at night. I have to keep reminding myself that he just turned 7 weeks and that I can't expect him to be as good of a sleeper as his brother was. At least he's adorable! I love his blue eyes and how smiley he is now!
