Disney Day Two

Thanks for checking back in! We had another fun-filled day in Florida!

I'm glad Brennan got the memo that Momma likes to take it easy on vacation. Even though he went to bed much earlier last night than the night before, he still slept in this morning. I woke up on my own at 8:20 and he was still sleeping! We wanted to have a low-key morning because we already had plans for the afternoon, so we decided to just drive back over to Downtown Disney and walk around. Brennan loved walking around The Marketplace area of Downtown Disney just as much as he liked Magic Kingdom yesterday. It doesn't take much to make him happy.

For some reason, this Pooh display was his favorite. He had to give Pooh, Tigger, and Piglet multiple hugs.

Then it was time to grab some lunch. Bet you'll never guess where we went! Chick-fil-a! After lunch Brennan took and nap and when he woke up we even had a little time to visit the pool. Yep, outdoor swimming in January. It was 77 degrees today. It will definitely be hard to return to the cold in CT. 

I mentioned we had plans for the afternoon, so after some pool time we got ready to go visit Peter's mom, Ellie. Peter has been Kyle's good friend since college and his family is from the Orlando area. Ellie gave us a tour of their horse farm and a tour of their brand new house. Then she was kinda enough to make us a delicious dinner. If you're reading this, Ellie, thanks again!

After dinner and dessert we headed back to the resort. Brennan has been bathed and is in bed after another great day!

Disney Day One

Instead of waiting until our vacation is over, I thought I'd go ahead and share pictures of our trip day by day.

First, here are a few pictures of our view from the ninth floor!

Now onto how we spent our first day in Disney! We didn't get in until late Sunday night, so we were thankful Brennan slept in this morning.

Once we were ready, we took the shuttle from our resort over to Magic Kingdom. We arrived at the perfect time; just as a parade was going by!

...then onto a carousel ride! Mommy was pretty excited again!

After that, we headed to It's a Small World. Brennan absolutely LOVED it!

He was in awe the whole time!

We used the stroller some, but Brennan walked A LOT! He was so good about holding onto Mommy's hand.

Next we rode The Pirates of the Caribbean. Brennan really liked that one too. Afterwards there was a meet and greet with Goofy.

Since we got a late start, after meeting Goofy, we were ready to head back towards the resort so Brennan could take a nap. With our Parkhopper passes, we can visit all four theme parks as many times a day for four days, so we didn't feel bad heading back after only a few hours. On our way out, there was a show going on, so we got to see Mickey again.

Then it was time to leave. This is how Brennan felt about that:

Just kidding. He was only crying because we made him wear that hat. He didn't mind leaving because he got to pick out an awesome Mickey sucker for the shuttle ride back to the resort.

We had a great morning at Magic Kingdom!

We let B take a little nap, but woke him up so we could catch another shuttle and head to Downtown Disney for dinner tonight. We ate at the Rainforest Cafe and while waiting for our food, Mommy and Brennan walked around a lot. We didn't take any pictures other than a few on the water taxi.

Then it was back to the resort.

All in all, it was a super day! Now Brennan is in bed and now Kyle and I are relaxing and watching The Bachelor. We can even see the fireworks from our balcony! Oh and I promise Kyle is on this trip. Sorry he wasn't in any pictures today. He was wielding the camera all day. We will try to take care of that tomorrow! Make sure you check back tomorrow to see what happens next!

Brennan has a new favorite word and he's not afraid to use it!


Here's a quick picture I snapped the other day of Brennan sitting at his new table. I think he looks like such a big boy when he sits there to do his puzzles or play with Play-Doh!

Top 11 of '11

It's so hard to believe another year has come and gone. I can't believe in just a little over a month, my baby boy will be 2! As the year comes to a close, I am linking up with Click, Pray, Love, NapTime Momtog, and Click it Up a Notch to share my top eleven photos of Brennan from the past year.

I have shared pretty much all of these on the blog before. None of them are technically sound (a few I actually captured on my iPhone), but they are still pretty special to me. It's so wild how much Brennan has changed over the past year. Here are my top 11 in chronological order:

1. This first picture was taken last January. It's so hard to believe it's almost been a full year since then. Brennan's snowsuit and boots were way too big for him, but they worked for the few minutes we had him outside this day. I think this will remain one of my favorite pictures for a very long time. Brennan and Ringo already love each other and I know the bond they share will only grow stronger with time.

2. We had so much fun celebrating Brennan's first birthday in February. I love this shot of him after he ate his smash cake. He was so proud!

3. Faux-hawks in the bathtub never get old. This was before Brennan has his first haircut, so there was plenty of hair to play around with.

4. This was taken in May and I remember being excited for this picture because it was finally starting to get warm in Connecticut. It made me realize how much I like capturing pictures of Brennan outside where no flash is needed.

5. Definitely nothing fancy about this one, but I still absolutely love it. I love that you can see his toothy grin. I love the little curl over his left ear.

6. Fast-forward several months and here we are in October. Wow, what a difference from the above picture to this one. Even though the photo is a little dark, I just love how happy he is in it.

7. I was so excited when I captured his image of Brennan. He's sitting against our neighbor's storage shed. I had set out that day to get a good picture of him for our Christmas card and knew this would be it. Once I uploaded it on the computer, it ended up being slightly out of focus, but I still love it none-the-less!

8. This might be my favorite picture ever. This was taken in the morning before we had even left his room that day. He was being super silly and cute, so I ran and grabbed the camera hoping I could get a good picture of him. I asked him to do "squishy face" and captured this picture. Isn't he just the sweetest?!?! And that cowlick, boy oh boy!

9. I warned you a few of my favorites were take on my iPhone. That thing is so handy to just snap a quick picture! You probably wouldn't know it from looking at his face, but little guy was sick this day. He asked to take a bath in the middle of the day and I happily obliged. I just love his eye contact with the camera. My finger unfortunately smudged the top corner of the photo, but after I edited in Instagram, I was in LOVE with this picture!

10. One more iPhone pic. This one isn't as clear as the other, but I still think it's adorable. This was taken on Christmas Eve before heading out to our church service. I love dressing B in button up shirts and sweaters. He looks so happy here and I like the Christmas tree in the background.

11. I had my camera out and ready Christmas morning. B was moving so fast from one thing to another though that it was hard to capture his excitement on camera. Even though he's looking down at a gift in this picture I like how you can still see his pure joy on Christmas morning.

So there you have it. He has changed so much in 2011 and I know the changes will keep happening even more rapidly in 2012. I'm so thankful for photos to be able to document all these stages of his life.
