Whoa! Where did time go? You are 10 months old today! You are growing so fast and the past month you have been super busy soaking up all kinds of new information and learning new things. Here's what you've been up to!

You are wearing mostly 12 month clothes. There are a few 9 month things that still fit. Mommy's friend Amanda gave you a bunch of clothes before you were even born and just recently gave you some more, so you are stylin'. People just think you are the cutest and I have to agree. Since it is cold out now, you wear your sock monkey hat a lot and that gets you lots of compliments. You are still wearing size 3 diapers and are still squirmy during diaper changes. But you are usually happy during them, so that is good.

You play a lot in your room. You even get some independent playtime each day in there. It gives Mommy time to eat lunch on her own and I think it is good for you to learn to entertain yourself. You love to knock things over, so sometimes you get frustrated when you are in your room playing and have knocked everything over. You know how all your toys work. You have always loved your gumball machine toy and now you can put the gumballs back in it. The big news is that you finally learned to roll over from your back! You aren't crawling yet, so that helps you get around some.

I took you to the doctor about a week ago because you had a little cold. I wanted the doc to check you out since we were getting ready to fly on a plane to KY. The nurse who was taking your vitals was weighing you and said, "I guess he doesn't have a problem eating!" Ha! It made me laugh because you do feel heavy to carry around, but you're not a huge baby. At that appointment you weighed 21 pounds 3 ounces. You are eating your solids well, but haven't started many table foods. I think you are ready, but you only have the two teeth, so you still can't chew up a lot of food. You are very proficient at feeding yourself snacks (goldfish, puffs, yogurt melts). You seem to have great dexterity. Nursing isn't going as well. I am still breastfeeding you, but you are very distracted. I often wonder if you are ready to stop, but you are still growing, peeing, and pooping, so I guess you're getting enough to eat. I think I am going to start weaning you at the first of the year and eliminate one feeding each week.

You are a good napper most days. Sometimes you will only take a short morning nap, but then you will usually take a long afternoon nap. You do not want to take a little catnap before bed anymore. Nighttime sleeping is still good, but you are waking up earlier than you used to. Mommy has been feeding you when you wake up and is wondering if I am "training" you to wake early now. Thankfully you will go right back down and sleep until about 7:30. I am a little worried about weaning you because at least when you do wake up early, it is quick and easy to breastfeed you. I really don't want to have to heat up a bottle for you at that time, but we'll see. I actually hope you will do better with a sippy upon weaning, so you don't have to take a bottle.

There are MANY other new things are you doing. So many that I'll just write some out in bulleted form!

*you are clapping more
*you will cover your eyes (or ears) if we say "Where's Brennan?"
*you dance when you hear music or if we ask you to dance
*you make an Indian noise if I put my hand on your mouth
*you love to ride on your Tonka truck
*you barrel roll
*you'll roar if asked "What does a tiger say?"
*you say, "Dada", "dog", and "duck" (At least I think you can say duck)
*you understand SO MANY words: you'll point to lights, you'll take out your binky on command

See! I told you! You are learning so much! I love you so much. We are celebrating this birthday in Kentucky and you are being such a good baby. You love to be passed from one family member to another! You're pretty much awesome! :)
